THE ROAD TO MYANMAR BY SCOOTER
DAY 2 - KANCHANABURI AND ERAWAN NATIONAL PARK

We spent our time in Kanchanaburi at River Inn, a nice place and great value at just under 1000 baht for 2 nights, even better value since it was free due to my accrued Agoda points, one of the great things about using the site and submitting reviews.  A nice room, decent wifi, fridge and a hot shower, what more could a traveler ask for?!

Went to see an old mate, Phil, from Crackers Bar but he was shut, though caught up with him the second night, turns out he had been down in Rayong for a few days.  We ended up at the BBQ buffet place for dinner, not far from the famous River Kwai Bridge, always a good feed and only 139 bt each.  A large beer however was 100bt!

The next morning was a fairly early start to beat the masses at Erawan National Park and waterfalls, an amazing display of nature that I still reckon are the best falls in Thailand.  Much more crowded than my last visit, but still spectacular nonetheless.

We continued on riding around the area for a bit then headed home for a much needed afternoon nap, the riding and early start had taken their toll as I never take naps.

Afterwards we went and had some beers with Phil and his wife before getting some great food at the market area just out of town a bit, not to be confused with the nightly markets further down the road that shut much earlier.  You can nearly always find some food here at any hour of the night, 80bt had us both fed and heading for the room.

Some snaps after Erawan

There were heaps of these stone carving shops outside of Kanchanaburi, very impressive work
