PUNCAK, TAMAN SAFARI ZOO AND GUNUNG GEDE PANGRANGO NATIONAL PARK
We jumped in Patty’s car and headed to Puncak, a tiny town near Mt
Gede, a national park area containing some great treks and waterfalls. The town itself is perched in the hills near
Bogor and is a known tea growing area where you can stay on the plantations and
view the intriguing, intricate tea fields.
But first up on the way was a visit to Taman Safari Park and Zoo.
On the drive in you will see rows of stalls selling carrots and bananas, stop and buy some, you can feed them to the animals from the window of your car as you drive through, safari style and see many different uncaged species right up close.
They even have tigers and lions un-caged in separate areas and they were literally meters away from our window. After exploring the Safari section, we checked out the zoo and also what i really wanted see here, the young animals you could sit with.
I got to sit with a young lion, his head resting in my lap as patty snapped a few pictures, then played with a white tiger that actually fired up a bit and i thought 'oh shit, now i'm gonna get bitten by a tiger, this wouldn't surprise anyone!'.
Finally there was an Orangutan that happily hugged and played with visitors, when i got up to leave she jumped and swung her way back to me and used me as a climbing pole before quick as lightning grabbing Patty's water bottle straight from her pocket and scampering off with it.
There is also a pretty nice waterfall you can walk to from the zoo, definitely worth a look if you're visiting.
It was proving difficult to find a room for the night at a decent price but we eventually found somewhere, Hotel Cianjur, got settled in and ordered some food.
The next day was a trip to a beautiful garden and waterfalls, a fairly easy walk with stunning scenery, I can’t be certain, but I think it was Cibodas Gardens and National Park. Another place that shouldn’t be missed, if you are in the area a little research will find this place, even if I am wrong about the name.

Oooh more kisses
Unsure what this is all about. but these giraffes were doing this weird thing where they kept swinging down and in and wrapping there necks around each other. Was pretty cool and interesting
THIS BEAR, WHICH COULD CHEW YOUR LEG OFF, LIKE MOST OF THE ANIMALS WAS JUST WANDERING AROUND! LOVE THE SAFETY FACTOR
